Musical Monday

Today's selection for Musical Monday is actually a commercial. A Public Service Announcement, to be precise, from the Long Island Regional Poison Control Center.

In NJ, we don't have our own TV stations. All the people who work at them live in Jersey, but that's a seperate issue. We get stations from NY or Philly, depending where in Jersey you live. (In Princeton, I got both.) I was fortunate enough to grow up with this delightful gem of a PSA from the NY stations.

I'm not sure I realized at the time that they were pills singing. But the jingle was so catchy, who cared? I didn't ever take anyone else's medicine, and frankly, to this day I have issues with child proof caps, which were still a new-fangled notion at the time. So, I guess it worked.

See? The world is better when it's done as a musical.

Enjoy!

those "pills" are ADORABLE. A.DOR.A.BLE. kind of a cross between cookie monster and a blue M&M, which, sorry, poison control people, i know you weren't aiming for a candy association. :)

"Even though we look so fine and dandy!"

Love it! Never had any PSA's that great before. Or pills. Hmmm, was it supposed to make me want to go find some cute little pills to take? I could go for delirious right about now.

Gosh! I saw those pills and the song jumped into my head! Actually I sing it every time my kids ask for more vitamins.

And once as a kid I took one of my aunts pills that she had dropped on the floor (thinking it was candy), I spit it out right away and thought to myself:"dummy, didn't those singing pills teach you anything?"

Thanks for the flash back.

Ok, I'm addicted to the singing pills. I think I've watched this 10 times today already. And I just emailed it to my family. Wa-ha-ha-ha!

AH, the singing pills. They affect you that way, I'm afraid.

I personally like the little echo after each line the best.

And, "Believe us!"

Val, we do that for vitamins, too!I can't believe the that PSA didn't go nationwide. we were lucky kids.
