Some 2nd grade classrooms have class pets like hamsters, or chameleons, or guinea pigs. And then there is Benjamin's classroom. They received eggs a few weeks ago, watched them hatch last week, and today we were able to enjoy 7 of the baby chicks at our home! All sorts of cuteness! (And let me tell you, "Why did the chicken cross the road?" jokes are WAY funnier when told in the presence of actual chickens.)

Sadly, no. They are getting too big too fast to stay in the classroom. Back to the farm this weekend. Some neighbors were trying to decide if they got enough signatures on a petition if they could get a variance on the ban against farm animals and poultry in our town. Cranky lawmakers.
We stopped by the school today and had a peek at them. They are so cute and all the way home Tyler kept saying "quack, quack".
