I Promise I'm Not Beating My Child
Look at this cute girl hugging her stuffed animals. I try to take pictures like this to remind myself when she is throwing her thrice daily enormous and dramatic tantrums that she can also be sweet.
This morning was a full 20 minutes of out and out SCREAMING! Screaming like there should have at the very least been a severed limb involved. Screaming like even though the windows are closed and the air conditioning and fans are on, I was still worried neighbors would hear and be convinced I was beating my child.
The reason for the drama?
I wouldn't let her have fruit snacks for breakfast.
Oh, the horror!!
Another truly notable time was because I didn't have the right amount of milk for her cereal. Although that day was lovely outside, so all the windows were open.
Two days ago it was because she couldn't find the right shirt to wear to the playground. Then the right pants. After that it was about the shoes.
Those people who told me girls were easier than boys?
They lied.

I just want to say for the record that I am not one of those people who said girls are easier. But since I'm wallowing in three-year-old drama here with the second boy, I'm not sure they're all that much harder, either. :) ~Elli
I can only imagine what Sunday mornings conjure up :-). Everyone tells me boys are easier but that they're just very very physical. I think it must just be a different kind of drama- one an action film and one a heavy emotional sort. That is a very simplified conclusion of course. Stay strong Emelia! It helps to do the calm narrator bit, " oh I see you feel very strongly about your milk being 2 oz. below your cereal bits...my what strong legs you have! I hope we don't need to surgically remove them for self-defense purposes...etc". (the more ridiculous, the more you can amuse yourself and keep your cool, I think). Big momma hug!
WHO told you girls were easier?? Yeah...
Just look how adorable she looks though, and it's not even a picture of her sleeping. ;) Hopefully she'll outgrow this phase sooner rather than later.
Girls easier? Never. That being said, I'm thankful to have both.
Oooh, girl, game on!
When Michael was three he did the same thing, but he wanted Skittles for breakfast. :P
Your blog told Facebook to email me that you had posted something new, and so I added your blog to my Feedly. Oh, technology.
Love ya!
